I read once that the average American produces more than 4 pounds of garbage per day. Whether this is true or not, it made me think about how much I actually do throw away. I saved "garbage" over the course of a month and created my piece "One Man's Trash" - a life sized human form covered in my trash. I absolutely loved the entire process as well as the result. I have continued to explore this method of found art sculpture throughout the years. I keep boxes of broken items I find interesting or beautiful to use in future sculptures. Some may call it hoarding, I choose to ignore them...
